Surviving material:

Horsing Around With History [text-only script]
Apparently, William Van Horn's pencil script.
One panel (6.7) has been published as illustration in Geoffrey Blum article "One More Hurrah" in "Uncle Scrooge Adventures" No. 33; and (informally?) in Carl Barks - Background Material and Current Events.
Apparently, William Van Horn's finished art.

Cross-references: One nephew says: "Hmm! The Beagle Boys are fond of prunes, remember?" (5.3) This is a cross-reference to «message from uncharted island» and «message from uncharted island». In these stories, 176-167 is shown as being fond of prunes. The difference is that the nephews now seem to think that a multiple of Beagle Boys likes prunes, instead of only one.

D D 2001-021 intelligent mouse

Barrier: ---
CBL: ---
Type: story
Art: Daan Jippes
Ink: [unknown]
Script: Daan Jippes (partly based on a 1955 Barks idea)
Hero: Uncle Scrooge
Submission: [2001?]
Publication date: 2002, September 26 (Europe, Denmark; 2004, November (USA
Issue: Anders And & Co. #2002-39  Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge No. 335
Pages: 10

Additional credits: Partly based on the surviving "condensed version" of a 1955 idea by Barks. (Barks wrote the idea for an animated cartoon with Scrooge, but the plans were abandoned.) Jippes also seems to have inspired by Barks's in "Only a Poor Old Man".

Description: A laboratory mouse blackmails Scrooge by threatening to destroy a 10.000 Euro bill. To avoid the damage, Scrooge has to bring the mouse an extremely rare cheese, served in an expensive, extravagant way.

Backstage: Jippes's comic book version of Barks's condensed idea has a lot of resemblances, but also some remarkable differences. Detailed information

D D 2001-004 Dime and Dime Again [part 1]

Barrier: ---
CBL: ---
Type: story
Art: Carlos Mota
Ink: [unknown]
Plot: Carl Barks
Script: Geoffrey Blum

Submission: [2002?]
Publication date: 2002, October 17 (The Netherlands, Europe); 2003, September (USA)
Issue: Anders And & Co. #2002-42  Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge No. 321

Based on: luck charm misconception

Additional credits: Exact story code: "D/D 2001-004".

Changes: Barks's plot has been padded to a total of 26 pages, by adding lots of new story material.
Some of Barks's ingredients have been changed. The most notable change is that desperate Scrooge does not buy lottery tickets. Instead, he just gets a free sample lottery ticket by mail.
In the U.S.A., the title is changed to "Uncle Scrooge in From Dime To Dime".

Backstage: In a letter dated March 31, 1991, Barks wrote to artist Don Rosa - who was working on a 12-chapter Scrooge life-story - about the origin of his first dime. In a letter of April 22, 1991, Barks continued with a story-idea that went into the whereabouts of Scrooge's Old Number One being a lucky dime. Detailed information
