wintersleep at ski slope

Inducks: Qus/QOG 21
Barrier: MBAC-127
Bear Book: BBB-149
Type: story, three tiers per page (as published)
Art: Carl Barks
Script: Carl Barks
Hero: Barney Bear and Benny Burro
Submission: 1945, August 10
Publication date: 1946, January-February
Issue: Our Gang Comics 21
Pages: 8

Changes: Written and drawn as a four-tier six-page story (with ten-panel pages), but expanded to eight pages with three tiers per page. As a result, pages were cut up, and panels were trimmed and pasted up in the new format.

Paper restrictions during World War II resulted in a shrinking comic-book size. In Our Gang No. 21, the opposite happened. The war was over, paper restrictions were off, and Our Gang was once again 52 pages. The "Barney and Benny" story was stretched to fill some of the newly available space.

Status: Original version is lost.

Appearances: Benny Burro, Barney Bear.

Notes: At least up to 1978, this story hasn't been reprinted in the USA.
In The Netherlands, reprinted in "Tom & Jerry" Nr. 233, 1995. Dutch translation.
