The letter was sent to Maggie Thompson, the editor of tabloid newspaper Comics Buyer's Guide, who was looking for comments about Gare' for a tribute page. The letter was published in a 1993(?) issue of Comics Buyer's Guide. Source information on date of death currently unknown. Stefan took his information from "research done on the Internet by Swedish Donaldists Anders Berglund and Magnus Christiansson, and referred to in a newsletter (Kvacket 1/01) to members of the Swedish Donaldist society NAFS(k)".
